چکیده

Abstract It has been observed that a constriction of the gut microbiome occurs with high fat diet, and likewise decreased diversity is directly correlated more severe graft-versus-host disease (GvHD) following allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Taken together it plausible not only content, but source dietary could influence microbiota GvHD outcome. We sought to address this question developed experimental rodent diets have same content (25% kcal fat, moderate increase in from normal chow) which differ by source: animal- versus plant-derived found these drive alterations diversity. Both yielded similar outcomes an acute model GvHD, however we mice fed animal-derived diet exhibited worse survival chronic than diet. These findings increased inflammation intestinal immune populations induction. Collectively, our data show are equal macronutrient different can promote microbiomes turn alter homeostasis Century for Cure - Philanthropic Fund

Gut Microbiota in Graft-versus-Host Disease

Gut microbiota inhabit the host gastrointestinal (GI) tract and play roles in many aspects of metabolic and immunologic homeostasis. Understanding about gut microbiota composition in health and disease is accumulating with the advances in gene sequencing technology. Graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) is a major complication after allogenic bone marrow transplantation (allo-BMT), a gold standard c...

Alterations in Gut Microbiota and Immunity by Dietary Fat

Gut microbiota play critical physiological roles in energy extraction from the intestine and in the control of systemic immunity, as well as local intestinal immunity. Disturbance of gut microbiota leads to the development of several diseases, such as colitis, inflammatory bowel diseases, metabolic disorders, cancer, etc. From a metabolic point of view, the gut is a large metabolic organ and on...

Ibrutinib treatment ameliorates murine chronic graft-versus-host disease.

Chronic graft-versus-host disease (cGVHD) is a life-threatening impediment to allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, and current therapies do not completely prevent and/or treat cGVHD. CD4+ T cells and B cells mediate cGVHD; therefore, targeting these populations may inhibit cGVHD pathogenesis. Ibrutinib is an FDA-approved irreversible inhibitor of Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK) an...
